TYPE OF ORDERS:  ADT

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Typically underway M-F, detach Saturday. Primary role of this training opportunity is to observe and support underway replenishment (UNREP) operations from the USNS Duty Oiler platform in the SOCAL OPAREA. Operations include Fueling At Sea (FAS) and Replenishment At Sea (RAS) for 3rd Fleet USS warships. May also include Vertical Replenishments (VERTREP), helicopter Deck Landing Quals (DLQ’s), and small boat operations. Possible time from loads and discharges can count towards Tankerman PIC credential and/or renewal. The Chief Mate will process you onboard and direct you to proper Department Head. You will be integrated with the Deck or Engine Department, assisting with routine maintenance, drills, and inspections. This is an excellent hand-on opportunity for anyone interested in sailing with MSC and/or tanker ops. 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATION(S): 1 - Navy e-learning coures (must bring a copy of your certificate for the ship): Anti-Terrorism & Force Protection, SAPR, and IA/Cyber-Awareness for FY19

UNIFORM:  NWU *(Once onboard, The CAPT could dictate civilian working attire pending on the workscope)
