Description of the Requirement: Provide program and policy development supporting of the Strategic Sealift Officer Force (SSOF). Provide customer service to the Strategic Sealift Officer community and community stakeholders (Commander Navy Reserve Forces Command, Military Sealift Command, Deputy Chief of Naval Operations Strategic Mobility and Combat Logistics, and the Maritime Administration).

Tasks to be Performed: * Assigned officer will be assigned as an action officer within the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations Strategic Mobility and Combat Logistics, N42. * Address requests for information and tasks related to sealift, the mariner workforce, and other Military Sealift Command (MSC) programs such as prepositioning. * Duties will address programming and policy development supporting Strategic Sealift force structure and planning. * Address SSO program requirements, SSO officer career and community skills development, and coordination on merchant mariner issues with the Maritime Administration (MARAD), MSC, and others. * Additional duties may include Financial Management duties supporting requirements development and budget execution support. * Serve as N42 action officer/representative on the SSOF Executive Steering Committee (ESC). * Update and review instructions periodically. * Complete collateral duties as assigned.

Desired skill sets: - Active unlimited USCG license - Knowledge of current reserve programs and policies - Proven project management experience - Major Headquarters/Staff experience - Officer Community Management/Human Resources - Knowledge and experience in sealift and the maritime industry - Joint Professional Military Education - Knowledge/experience working with Military Sealift Command programs/MARAD’s Ready Reserve Force
