POSITION DESCRIPTION: Primary role is to provide the MARAD Vessel – GOLDEN BEAR support as a Naval Officer within the Office of the California State University Maritime Academy - Commandant of Cadets Office. Duties to include (but not limited to): - Provide leadership and shipboard knowledge to cadets in a structured learning environment. - Assist with the execution of the daily plan including cadet oversight of accountability, ship maintenance, and on-call emergency response. - Supervise cadet leaders in the design and communication of the watchbill, classroom instruction schedule, emergency stations, and liberty procedures. - Facilitate pre-arrival port briefings and work schedules in conjunction with Shipboard leadership including the Captain and Chief Engineer. - Mentor Strategic sealift Midshipmen and familiarize other students with the SSMP/SSO program.
**This position is not setup as a Merchant Marine Officer and is fully to be a position as a Naval Officer onboard augmenting the Commandant of Cadets Office. **
LOCATION: Vallejo, CA, underway, New York City, TBD UNIFORM: NWU *(Once onboard, The OIC could dictate civilian working attire pending on the workscope) with Military grooming standards always followed.
