Position Description: Work with the USNS Mercy Lead Design Engineer to support the Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) as a design engineer. The individual will perform design reviews, create and edit Performance Work Statements (PWS), Independent Government Estimates (IGE), and assist with the budgeting and planning of the USNS Mercy SLEP and preplanning for the USNS Comfort’s SLEP.

Minimum Qualifications Desired:  Applicants should be a qualified, currently sailing merchant mariners holding at least a USCG 3rd Assistant Engineer's license. They should possess the knowledge of current commercial shipping repair industry practices and standards and be familiar with ABS and USCG requires.  MSC experience is desired but not required.
